Pre training process: Xtravagant x Media Filly week 2

The Xtravagant/Media filly has taken another positive step forward in her preparation this week. With Briony now riding her, she’s been spending time out at the farm alongside a stablemate, easing back into ridden work in a relaxed and familiar environment.

In the attached video, Briony shares her thoughts, noting that the filly has put on a bit of condition during her spell but is feeling great under saddle. “She’s carrying a little extra weight, but I’m really happy with how she’s moving and how she feels overall,” Briony says.

This calm, steady start is setting her up well for the next stage of her preparation. After this week, she’ll head to the track, where we’ll begin reintroducing her to the barriers and getting her back into the rhythm of trackwork.

We’re thrilled with how she’s handled herself so far and are excited to see her continue to progress. On a side note, her sire Xtravagant had a big win over the weekend, with Nadal taking out a $1 million race—let’s hope she can show us a bit of that talent down the track!
